ABOUT Amanda
I started my own healing journey not long before I turned 40. I hadn’t realized how much of my life was spent making decisions from past trauma—or even how much past trauma I’d actually endured. Yoga was the first place I was able to begin reconnecting to my body, before I began processing anything; I became passionate about studying trauma and the nervous system. I began my own deep work in therapy and other modalities, and I thought I wanted to go back to graduate school to be a traditional therapist. But I felt called to something different, more accessible, more balanced, and more intuitive.
My discovery of Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice came on a middle of the night deep dive into various forms of trauma therapy that also involved yoga. I signed up to start my training the next day (and withdrew my grad school acceptance). I have spent the last several years doing coursework and training and am currently doing my practicum with clients to receive my level 2 certification.
I feel deeply connected to this work because of the myriad ways it’s changed my life, and I feel deeply connected to the clients I serve whose struggles I recognize in my own. I don’t just have faith that healing is possible; I have evidence. And I have hope that as we heal ourselves, we also heal the world around us.
When I’m not working with clients or reading about trauma or listening to podcasts on nervous system regulation (I am a nerd!), I love to do yoga, write, read, crochet, be outside, make art, listen to music, go on local adventures, and spend time with my amazing daughters. I am based in the Glenside area of the Philadelphia suburbs.
